Fight for the Marianas: The Release of the Final EIS

The Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the military buildup was released today (Tuesday, July 27, 2010) by the Joint Guam Program Office (JGPO). The following is the link to the story about the FEIS release, which also contains links to the actual FEIS document:

Please review the FEIS. The public is allowed to make further comments on the document and is encouraged to submit them within the next month. However, according to the federal officials, in their FEIS presentation given last Friday, a record of decision (which allows for the development and construction of buildup-related DoD projects) will be made in September 2010.

We hope that you will stay informed, help share what's happening to the Chamorus of the Mariana Islands (namely Guahan and Tini'an), and continue to fight for the Marianas.
